[CYOA] Girls' Night - Part 2

Convinced of what she should choose, Veronica chuckled as she relayed her decision to the other girls, “How bout a round of strip poker, hmm?” 

Sydney and Erika did not respond immediately, instead giving awkward glances to Veronica and each other. When they did, they simply let out a collective, “What?” 

“No, I'm serious.” Veronica continued, “The movie is putting us on edge and practically everything else would bore the crap out of at least one of us. So, why not play a game with some consequences as an added punishment for losing?” 

“I don’t think-“

“Come on, Erika! You're good at poker! This should be a walk in the park for you!” 

The German Shepherd, being the most modest of the three, was probably not too keen on a game where the possibility of her becoming naked existed, even if it just around two other people. Sydney, on the other hand, simply smiled as she witnessed Erika become uncomfortable. The dolphin stood up and said, “I say we do it. It'll be nice to embarrass you two in a card game again.” 

Veronica looked to Erika again as Sydney stood next to the fox. Hoping to coax her friend into joining, Veronica chided further, "Come on! You even get a chance to put Sydney in her place!"

With the prospect of humiliating the dolphin now in her mind, Erika smiled slightly as she eyed Sydney mischievously. That sole fact was enough to push the usually modest German Shepherd past the point where modesty would stop her. Determined, she stood up, "Let's do it, then."

"Awesome!" Veronica exclaimed as the three girls headed for the kitchen table. The trio went to work, clearing it off and getting the cards set up. As they did, Veronica glanced at her companions' outfits, just to get a sense of what she was up against.

Sydney, being a metal-loving punk was dressed in black leather pants, a black band t-shirt and black punk boots. Erika, on the other hand, wore a much more conservative outfit, with grey sweatpants and a magenta hoodie, topped off with black house shoes. It was a mystery to Veronica what her friends had on underneath however. As for the fox herself, she was dressed in a white button-up t-shirt and grey skirt, coupled with tube socks. 

With the cards in place, the girls sat the table. Veronica dealt the cards out, then asked, “So, which version do you girls want to play? Are we betting clothes or does the lowest hand lose?” 

“Let’s do the lowest hand.” Erika determined, “The game will last much longer that way.”

“Alright.” Veronica smiled, “Alright, ladies. Get ready, cause the pants go first.” 

“Bring it.” Sydney said defiantly. 

The three looked at their cards, and the expressions of determination and worry set in. Veronica was fairly confident in her hand, and set a smirk upon her face in response to it. She decided to keep her cards.

Sydney wore her usual scowl, eyes closed halfway and mouth corners turned downwards. However, Veronica could not tell if it was in response to the hand or just the dolphin being herself. The dolphin gave up three of her cards, which Veronica quickly replaced. 

Erika gave off a look of worry as she observed her own hand. The Shepherd was quick to give up just a single card. Her replacement card did not seem to cause her any remedy. 

When the new cards were dealt out, Veronica called out, “We ready?”

When the others agreed, Veronica chuckled, “Alright, cards down…”

A sense of disappointment washed over the face of the loser…
